ICT as a Communication tools

ICT functions as a connection or the link between parents, students, teachers and as a community as a whole to strengthen and upgrade student's learning. The connection can be made through the use of tools like gmail, chats, video conferencing, facebook and so on looking into the comfortability of the tools.

Following are the two types of communication tools:

1. Synchronous
2. Asynchronous

1. Synchronous
It is a real time communication between two or more people in which the users conducts all the discussions simultaneously. Example can be face-to-face or telephone communication, vle discussion,  chats and etc..







2. Asynchronous   
Is a medium through which a communication can happen but the user need not have to be logged in on the internet. Example can be e-mail, wechats, blog vle discussion forum and etc...

ICT as a informative tools


Comparing to the degree of learning between the use of ICT and the use of textbooks in the classroom, I have experienced that learning through ICT has greater impact. Additionally, information is far more advanced and also we can go beyond four walls (exploring beyond the classroom learning). The reason could be that the internet acts a huge electronic database and repository of information. Retrieving a valid source if information from internet is what a learner need to opt for but I am insecure regarding the information on the internet.
The repository of information can be in the form of sound, graphics, text and movies.

Knowing that information isn't enough for the learning, we should learn how to implement it effectively into the lesson. The internet being the most advanced source unlike radio and television, all sort of information will be available that could be either productive and nonproductive. Being the future teacher, we should teach our students how to analyze, synthesis and manipulate those valid information and neglect those unwanted or clique data. Moreover, they should learn how to construct their own knowledge and meaning. In nutshell, everyone should adhere to those valid source of information.
